La terapia Familiar se instaura en el país durante la década del ´60, época donde se han generado diversas teorías y prácticas en el campo de la salud mental. El siguiente trabajo se centrará en las primeras conceptualizaciones del objeto “familia” con las que trabajaban los terapeutas en los incipientes tratamientos familiares en Argentina. Sus primeros aportes teóricos surgen del psicoanálisis de escuela inglesa, que confluirán con los aportes principalmente de la teoría de la comunicación proveniente de Estados Unidos. A partir de esta mixtura se desarrollarán teorías, investigaciones y prácticas sobre el grupo familiar, generándose en este interjuego nuevas teorías para adecuarse al objeto de intervención y nuevas prácticas a partir de estas conceptualizaciones. Resumen en Inglés WHAT IS THE MEANING OF " FAMILY " FOR THE ARGENTINEAN THERAPISTS FAMILY? FIRST STEPS TO WARDS ITS CONFIGURATION. Key Words: family, family therapy, psychoanalysis, theory of communication. The family therapy was established in Argentina during the sixties. This paper focuses on the first delimitations and meanings of “family” concept that therapists used at that time. The theoretical concepts used in their works came from the Theory of Communication (USA) and a local psychoanalytical tradition which has had the influence of Melanie Klein´s theory. This influence allowed the develpment of the family therapy discipline, including the theories, researchs and practices applied to family groups. From this mixture, new theories, researchs and practices on the “family group” concept will be developed, in order to gain new perspectives and ways of approaching this object of study.
