El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar los resultados de un estudio comparativo del discurso de las madres de dos prepúberes sordas acerca del momento posterior al diagnóstico de discapacidad de sus respectivas hijas. Nuestro interés se centra en detectar, en ambos discursos, las fijaciones pulsionales y mecanismos de defensa -y sus respectivos estados-, a través del algoritmo David Liberman. En un segundo momento comparamos los resultados. El ADL es un método basado en conceptos freudianos, diseñado para investigar dos variables principales: fijaciones libidinales y defensas en el discurso. Como resultados, observamos que ambas madres combinan defensas funcionales y patológicas (fundamentalmente la desmentida), en el intento de enfrentar los problemas de sus hijas. En ambos casos las defensas son eufóricas. Para una de ellas, el lenguaje del erotismo predominante es intrasomático, mientras que para la otra es oral primario. En ambos casos la defensa surge frente a representaciones desorganizantes y desbordantes. Una de las madres muestra tendencia a la sobreadaptación, mientras que la otra manifiesta una combinación entre la búsqueda de una revelación divina y una beligerancia frente a la realidad. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MOMENT AFTER BEING INFORMED ABOUT THE DIAGNOSIS The aim of this paper is to present the outcomes of a comparative study of the discourse of two mothers of deaf female adolescents. We detected drives and defenses, as well as their state, in each mother at the moment of the acknowledgement of the handicap of her daughter. At the same time we compared the corresponding outcomes. We used the David Liberman algorithm, a method based on Freudian concepts designed to investigate two main variables: libidinal fixations and defenses in the discourse. We observed that both mothers combined functional and pathological defenses (mostly disavowal) in the attempt to deal with the problems of their daughters. In both cases the defenses are euphoric. For one of the mothers, the predominant language of erotism is intrasomatic libido; for the other one is primary oral. In both cases the defense arises against an overwhelming and disorganizing feeling. One of the mothers shows a tendency to overadaptation; the other one, a combination between the search for a holy revealing message and a quarrelsome stand against reality.
