En el marco de la investigación denominada “Clínica diferencial de las perturbaciones de la experiencia y percepción del cuerpo” de la Cátedra de Psicopatología I de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNLP, se abordó el problema del diagnóstico diferencial de la llamada dismorfofobia. El estudio de esta manifestación clínica ha suscitado un interés especial en la historia de los desórdenes de la imagen corporal a partir de la descripción inicial realizada por el Profesor Enrico Morselli en el año 1891. Tal como veremos, la descripción del cuadro y las reflexiones del autor acerca de su posición en la nosografía, vuelven a encontrarse en las nomenclaturas contemporáneas y promueven en el campo psicopatológico el debate acerca del estatuto de esta dolencia, debate que sólo puede superarse teniendo en cuenta una perspectiva que contemple la relación entre el fenómeno y la estructura. El objetivo del presente trabajo es examinar, desde un punto de vista crítico, distintas respuestas que se han dado al problema de la clínica y la etiología de la dismorfofobia, desde las postrimerías del siglo XIX hasta llegar a su conceptualización en la psiquiatría actual. Palabras clave Dismorfofobia Dismorfia Delirio somático ABSTRACT DIFFERENTIAL CLINIC OF THE “DISMORPHOPHOBIA”: THE ANTECEDENTS IN THE FIELD OF THE PSYCHIATRY In the context of the research denominated “Differential clinic of the disturbances of the experience and perception of the body” follow up by the Cathedra Psicopatología I of the School of Psychology of the U.N.L.P., the problem of the differential diagnosis of the so called dismorphophobia was approached. The study of this clinical manifestation has raised an special interest in the history of the disorders of the corporal image starting from the initial description carried out by the Professor Enrico Morselli in 1891. Just as we will see, the description of the syndrome and the author´s reflections about their position in the nosography, appear again in the contemporary nomenclatures and they promote, in the psychopathological camp, the debate about the statute of this ailment, discussion that it can only be overcome keeping in mind a perspective that contemplates the relationship between the phenomenon and the structure. The objective of the present work is to examine, from a critical point of view, different answers that it have been given to the problem of the clinic and the etiology of the dismorphophobia, from the final of the XIX century until its conceptualization in the current psychiatry.
