O artigo apresenta informações referentes à alfabetização de alunos de seis anos no Ensino Fundamental com a ampliação para nove anos. Ressaltamos no texto embasamentos teóricos e bibliográficos acerca da alfabetização, bem como as implicações pedagógicas acerca da proposta. Para isso foram utilizados os pensamentos dos autores Emília Ferreiro, Magda Soares, Ana Maria Kauffman, e dados do MEC. Entendemos que a proposição da ampliação do ensino fundamental de 08 para 09 anos representa uma nova oportunidade de reflexão aos educadores. Portanto, o objetivo do artigo foi verificar junto aos educadores alfabetizadores se há uma concepção cognitiva, teoria e prática a respeito desta nova proposta. Para tanto, realizaram-se entrevistas com 05 professores alfabetizadores da rede privada, com o intuito de verificar os aspectos positivos e dificuldades encontradas por esses educadores diante dessa proposta política educacional brasileira. We stand out in the text theoretical and bibliographical basements concerning the literacy, as well as the pedagogical implications concerning the proposal. For this had been used the thoughts of authors Emília Ferreiro, Magda Soares, Ana Kauffman Maria, and data of the MEC. We understand that the proposal of the enlargement of the basic education of 08 for 09 years represents a new chance of reflection to the educators. Therefore, as objective of the present article standed out the importance to verify next to the educators alphabetized if it has a cognitive conception, practical and theory and regarding this new proposal. For in such a way, interviews with 05 professors had been become fulfilled alphabetized of the private network, with intention to ahead verify the positive aspects and difficulties found for these educators of this proposal Brazilian educational politics.
