El presente estudio buscó comprender como madres de niños con autismo viven la maternidad, así como elucidar los sentimientos que prepasan esta trayectoria; desvelar las especificidades de la rutina de cuidados con el niño autista; conocer la repercusión del diagnóstico del hijo en las relaciones familiares y sociales y por fin comprender como el acceso a la red de apoyo puede reverberar en las vivencias de la maternidad. Participaron cuatro mujeres con hijos en la edad infantil con diagnóstico de autismo. Los datos fueron obtenidos por medio de entrevistas semiestructuradas, realizadas individualmente y analizadas conforme el Análisis Textual Cualitativo. Los resultados apuntan que esta vivencia es una experiencia desafiadora. Estas mujeres renuncian a la carrera profesional, vida social y a relaciones afectivas a favor de los cuidados maternos. Surgen con eso sentimientos como inseguridad, tristeza y desamparo. Por consiguiente las redes de apoyo actúan como auxilio e información ayudándolas asentirse más confinadas frente a la maternidad. Se concluye delante de eso que es necesario posibilitar a estas madres un espacio donde ellas puedan ser escuchadas, cambiar experiencias y amenizar sus inseguridades. Al final se resalta que la sicología puede funcionar como red de apoyo y contribuir para la prevención en salud mental en las familias que posean miembros autistas. Palabras clave Maternidad Niños com autismo ABSTRACT THE EXPERIENCE OF MATERNITY IN MOTHERS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM This study aims to comprehend how the mothers of autist children apperceive their maternity situations, also to elucidate the feelings that intersperse this path, to unveil the specificity of the daily routine of cares with the autist child, to know the reflection of the son’s diagnosis in the familiar and social relationship and last of all to comprehend how the access to the aiding nets can reflect in the maternity situations. Three women whose sons are in the childhood and present autism diagnosis took part of the study. The data were obtained through semi-structured interviews, fulfilled individually and analyzed according to the Qualitative Textual Analyzes. The results point that the maternity situation when the son is autist is a challenging experience. These women renounced their professional careers, the social life and the affective relationships to dedicate themselves integrally to the maternal cares. Due to this, feelings like incertitude, sadness and abandonment arise. Consequently the mothers need an aid to confront the difficulties that intersperse this life situation. The aiding nets act with support and information helping the mothers to feel themselves more confident facing maternity. Key words Maternity Autism Psychology
