Se aborda la construcción de sentimientos de nacionalidad y la transmisión de imágenes y roles normativos de género en los libros de lectura recomendados por el Consejo Nacional de Educación en la transición entre el siglo XIX y el siglo XX en Argentina. Se interpretan tales discursos en el marco de las necesidades políticas del heterogéneo panorama social del momento y se subraya el papel del libro de lectura como fuente para la historia de la psicología. Such discourses are interpreted in the context of the political needs of the heterogeneous social context of the moment and emphasize the role of the reading book as source for the history of the psychology.
