A lo largo de los últimos 100 años se han hecho cada vez más visibles en la sociedad la “diversidad sexual” reconociendo que no es una entidad moderna sino que son prácticas humanas de antaño que a lo largo de la historia han sido objeto de distintas argumentaciones, marcaciones y estigmatizaciones sociales. Estos grupos de personas que luchan por sus derechos sociales, políticos, civiles y económicos siguen aún siendo relegados por cuestiones de identidad y orientación sexual. Fueron muchas décadas de estigmatización y condena social; tanto así como de patologización de su identidad. Hoy en día, la comunidad trans puede hacer escuchar sus voces, pero no es sin esas luchas emprendidas que se han logrado dar unos pocos pasos en materia de reconocimiento legal. Aún así, las formas y prácticas naturalizadas de violencia institucional continúan vulnerando tanto su identidad como sus derechos ciudadanos. En este sentido, es común leer o escuchar sobre “violencia institucional” sin que ello interpele las prácticas humanas en el campo social. Este escrito pretende indagar los alcances de la violencia institucional y pensar sus efectos en las dinámicas sociales. Palabras clave Diversidad sexual - Transgénero - Violencia institucional - Cor- poreidad ABSTRACT LOCKED UP BODIES: TRANS SUBJECTIVITY AND INSTITUTIONAL VIOLENCE Over the last 100 years, “sexual diversity” has become increasingly visible in society, recognizing that it is not a modern entity but that they are human practices of yesteryear that throughout history have been the subject of different arguments, branding and social stigmatization. These groups of people who fight for their social, political, civil and economic rights are still being relegated by questions of identity and sexual orientation. There were many decades of stigmatization and social condemnation; as well as the pathologization of their identity. Today, the trans community can make their voices heard, but it is not without these struggles that a few steps have been taken in terms of legal recognition. Even so, the naturalized forms and practices of institutional violence continue to violate both their identity and their citizenship rights. In this sense, it is common to read or hear about “institutional violence” without questioning human practices in the social field.
