El presente trabajo desea visibilizar el recorrido que atravesó Jorgelina Galera -usuaria de Técnicas de Reproducción Humana Asistida- para alcanzar la maternidad luego de recibir un diagnóstico de esterilidad; diagnóstico que la condujo a la gestación de Nidra Mater. Este recorrido no fue sin interrogarse por: su imposibilidad de procrear; por el sistema de creencias que sostenía hasta el momento su deseo de ser madre; por la renuncia a las TRHA, que le permitió emprender un proceso de cambios radicales, mediante caminos alternativos, como el uso de plantas medicinales, el Yoga, entre otros; por la búsqueda hacia la fertilidad consciente; por la puesta en relato de aquellas experiencias que permitirían alojar el deseo de un hijo en su singularidad. ¿Qué invisibilizan las TRHA en relación al deseo vs. el mito mujer = madre? ¿Cuáles son los aportes que estos caminos alternativos -alejados de la medicina hegemónica- ofrecen ante los casos de esterilidad? Jorgelina respondería “conectarse con la capacidad de crear”. Palabras clave Esterilidad - Fertilidad - Gestación - Deseo ABSTRACT IN THE SEARCH FOR MOTHERHOOD I MET MY OWN SHADOW This paper wishes to make visible the journey that Jorgelina Galera -a user of Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques- went through to achieve motherhood after receiving a diagnosis of infertility; a diagnosis that led her to the gestation of Nidra Mater. This journey was not without questioning herself about: her impossibility to procreate; about the belief system that supported her desire to be a mother; about the renunciation of AHRT, which allowed her to undertake a process of radical changes, through alternative ways, such as the use of medicinal plants, Yoga, among others; about the search towards conscious fertility; about the recounting of those experiences that would allow her to accommodate the desire for a child in her singularity. What do AHRT invisibilize in relation to desire vs. the woman = mother myth? What are the contributions that these alternative paths - far from hegemonic medicine - offer in cases of infertility?
