El hostigamiento entre pares (bullying) se define como una forma de maltrato, normalmente intencionado y perjudicial de un/unos estudiante/s hacia otro compañero, generalmente más débil, al que convierten en su víctima habitual; suele ser persistente, puede durar semanas, meses e incluso años (Cerezo, 2005). Entre las variables asociadas al hostigamiento se encuentran la empatía cognitiva y afectiva y las habilidades sociales. El objetivo de este estudio ha sido analizar las relaciones entre la prevalencia del hostigamiento, niveles de empatía y habilidades sociales. Participaron del estudio 500 niño/as con edades entre 11 y 13 años. Se implementaron inventarios sobre empatía y habilidades sociales. Se han utilizado instrumentos autoadministrables que permitan detectar hostigadores, hostigados y testigos, las diferentes tipologías de acoso, más niveles de empatía y habilidades sociales de los mismos. Se presentan resultados que se cotejan con los obtenidos en estudios previos de este grupo y otros tantos a nivel nacional como extranjeros. La investigación es de corte empírico analítico con un diseño descriptivo. The objective of this study has been to analyze the relationships between the prevalence of bullying, levels of empathy and social skills. 500 children between 11 and 13 years old participated in the study. Inventories of empathy and social skills (self-administered) were used. They have been used to detect bullies, victims and witnesses, the different types of bullying and their levels of empathy and social skills. The results will be compared with those obtained in previous studies of this group and others, both nationally and abroad. The research is of an empirical analytical nature with a descriptive design.
