Resumen
In this paper we present an estimation of the provincial GDP for Argentinean provinces in 1895. The results are a first step to understand the evolution of regional inequality in a context of a typical process of export-led growth with high integration to the international markets of goods and productive factors, and shows that some characteristics of the regional distribution of per capita income observable in 1914 were already settled in 1895, that the relative levels of income per capita are relatively stable between 1895 and 1914, and there is robust evidence of convergence in that period.
