La emoción es una respuesta del organismo para adaptarse al entorno. Su estudio es posterior al resto de los procesos psicológicos básicos en el paradigma de la Psicología Cognitiva. Con su incorporación comenzó el interés por la interacción entre cognición y emoción. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar las principales hipótesis y resultados de estudios que plantean esta relación. Se concluye que los estudios de este tipo resultan importantes para una adecuada comprensión del sistema cognitivo humano así como del funcionamiento psicológico de individuos con problemas emocionales de ansiedad y depresión. Palabras clave Emoción, Memoria, Atención Abstract RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN EMOTION AND BASIC PROCESS: MAIN ASSUMPTIONS AND STUDIES Emotion is an adaptive response of the body to the environment. The study of emotion is posterior to the rest of the basic processes in Cognitive Psychology. With its incorporation the interest in the interaction between cognition and emotion had grown. The aim of this presentation is to present the main assumptions and results of studies suggesting this relationship. We conclude that studies of this type are important for a proper understanding of the human cognitive system and psychological functioning of individuals with emotional problems of anxiety and depression.
